Swype beta program for Android – Reopened!

This is for all those Androidans tired of using the stock Android keyboard, and for all those Swype fans who’re waiting for the Swype beta to open up before the holiday season.

If you have a Swype login ID, you can visit https://beta.swype.com/android/get (from your Android phone) and download the latest version of the keyboard. If you’re a new user, you need to register here – http://beta.swype.com/android/create

Swype keyboard for Android - beta program relaunched December 2010

I was going through the requirements, and was quite surprised to find that Swype doesn’t support QVGA resolution. HTC Tattoos/Wildfires, anybody??

Well, if you have a QVGA phone, you should try the Android Gingerbread keyboard for Eclair (Android 2.1) and Froyo (Android 2.2). Download it from here – XDA Developers.

Though I’m trying out the new Swype, I’ll fall back to the Gingerbread keyboard because it’s really simple, functional and won’t ridicule me with you’re now out of the beta program!
